Description: This class is for Nursing staff in particular but is extremely helpful to Program Administrators, Directors, QIDP’s, Quality Assurance Staff, and more. Discussion of Basics of ICF including Terminology as well as Nursing Responsibilities, including appropriate Monitoring & Documentation. Types of Assessments: Admission/Initial, CNA (Comprehensive Nursing Assessment), Quarterlies, etc….
Today’s Focus will be on the following topics:
-Scope of practice (RN vs. LVN)
-Active Treatment and What That Means
-IPP/Staffing Elements-The Role of The Nurse
-Nursing Responsibilities: Assessment, Review of Health Status, SAM’s, Care Planning, Monitoring Medications & Medical Appts.
Other Duties & Important NU Documentation–Medication Errors, Delays in Service, Incident/Injuries, IJ’s
Assessments: Admission/Initial, CNA (Comprehensive Nursing Assessment) and CNA Toolbox, Quarterlies, etc…
(Part II will review over: Specific Federal W-Tags that apply to nursing in ICF facilities, Surveyor Expectations, RN Delegation and Human Resource Code Ch 161/SB1857.
