The hearing on the Sunset Commission staff report for HHSC and related agencies will be Nov. 18-19, 2026.
We do not have specifics on which date Sunset Commission members will take up the HHSC report or when Sunset staff will release its report and recommendations on HHSC other than sometime early October.

Sunset Advisory Commission Public Hearing on HHSC
The Texas Sunset Advisory Commission (Sunset) is reviewing the mission and performance of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).
Sunset will hold a public hearing as part of its review of HHSC.
Members of the public, providers, licensees, stakeholders and other interested parties may submit written comments before and at the hearing. They can also testify on Sunset’s recommendations and raise other agency-related issues not addressed in the staff report. We urge you to provide public comment and testify if you can.
