From Twogether Consulting
Hello Everyone!
Today is the first day of the Texas State Chapter of AAIDD (American Association on Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities) Convention. This is the 49th year, and my first year as a board member. I am super excited about our keynote speaker at the opening session, James Meadours (self-advocate and disability rights leader), as well as our guest presenters for the general session on Oct. 2nd. This will be an interview-style presentation hosted by Shelbi Davenport, of “The Shelbi Show”, about the personal lives of 3 people with Down Syndrome, who were given the support and freedom to pursue their dreams and who are now living their best lives! Can’t wait to update everyone on events from this week in our next newsletter!
We are still available for facility and 1 on 1 requests for webinars and live training in October and November. Remember that you can view all calendar postings on our Twogether Consulting website.
Metro Care will host a live one-day training in Dallas this coming November. Twogether Consulting and Nursing Innovations will present, and the session will also be available by live webinar for those who can’t attend in person. Cost is $50/person and we will offer group discounts. This session is for SC’s at the LIDDA and for HCS/TxHmL providers. The focus will be on better understanding billing requirements and justifying services correctly to meet compliance, but also for meeting the needs of the individual. Additionally, to also meet the expectations from the Utilization Review department at HHSC, so that units for services on the IPC (Individual Plan of Care) are more accurate and appropriate for the individual’s needs, so UR does not deny the units. Some of the areas we will be focusing on specifically are CFC (Community First Choice), Nursing, Professional Therapies, including Behavioral Support. We will be providing more information including registration and payment options in the near future. Please continue to check the website: www.twogetherconsulting.com .
