ISS Provider License Checks:
HHSC stated that information presented in a session held last week regarding how often a provider must check the viability of an ISS provider’s license was inaccurate.
HHSC stated it cannot dictate how often one must check the status of an ISS provider’s license and that such needs to be determined by the program provider. HHSC added that this applies to the licenses of all subcontractors such as doctors, dentists, etc. HHSC added that ‘at least monthly’ might be prudent but would not commit to specifying a frequency. When asked how often the ISS directory (which includes the expiration date of an ISS provider’s license) is updated, HHSC has noted that this occurs ‘daily’.
